Truelythevs

This year I've grown extremely fond of Simple products. I wanted to go for a brand that wasn't too harsh for my skin as a lot of the products trialled left me with extremely dry skin and Simple was something that was recommended. so I thought why not?

Getting started on what products to buy was a massive hurdle.. but thankfully 'Simple Sense' helped out A LOT. It basically had a series of questions online and matched products which would be perfect for my skin!

I've been using these products for near 2 months (minus the micellar water) and they are absolutely fabulous, not only are they gentle on my skin they leave my face feeling fabulously hydrated.

I couldn't recommend these products enough, they have honestly done wonders to my skin! I do use them on an everyday basis, morning and evening.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

Just on a side not, I am now officially on facebook, you can find me here. It will be an easier way to keep you guys updated on frequent posts. Thank you!

My hair I would say is not too long nor too short so it's somewhere around the middle I guess. ( I recently got it trimmed over the Easter holidays by my mother).
This was requested by the girls from Gold&Hearts, you can check them out here. They are an amazing duo and I absolutely LOVE their blog, so definitely check them out!!

A lot of you may know I have really thin hair for as long as I remember whereas my sisters they have beautiful thick hair. I regularly straighten my hair so I do take extra care with my hair to ensure I keep it as healthy as possible.

I use the Remington Pro Ceramic Wide hair straightner (when I purchased the product it was £49.99) and I've used this for many years. I love the fact it does have wide plates so it makes it easier to straighten my hair, quite honestly everyone loves it whether it be family or friends. It heats up super quickly which is a bonus when your in a hurry and the maximum temperature at which it heats up to is 230°C.

The renewing moroccan argan oil gives your hair a glow and reduces split ends. I bought this last year and I have to say I don't really use it on a regular basis - maybe every two weeks? But this is amazing and the smell really is divine.
I apply two or three pumps onto my hand and rub it into wet hair and I ensure I apply it from the middle down so I avoid roots. I do after blowdry my hair and it does leave my hair super smooth and fabulous!

The Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen moisture hair lift was introduced by my sister. I use this product quite often because I do have thin hair so I find my hair is flat most of the time. This product does what it does, it provides my hair with volume and it doesn't really stick to your hair nor make it greasy as such. It does leave my hair feeling fuller and not lifeless.

These are the two shampoos I'm loving at the minute, seriously they are both as amazing as each other. They tend to leave my hair really soft and really smooth to touch and again they smell really great. I can't really fault either of these products but I do switch between these two every so often.

So there we go, that is my daily hair care routine, let me know what you guys think!

Finding makeup to fit my skin tone is mission impossible, honestly.
Foundations/ concealers are either too light or either too dark meaning I can never find 'the perfect one.'

Do you ever notice how amazing the makeup looks in store and when try it at home it's the total opposite?
That is the story of my life.

So you may have noticed in my previous posts, I bought the Clinique beyond perfecting 2 in 1. This is a concealer and foundation combined which comes with the angled tip applicator and it gives you the perfect coverage.

The beyond perfecting foundation and concealer is highly pigmented and it does give you a flawless coverage no doubt about it. It is lightweight which is beneficial when applying to areas under the eyes.

For me personally, I really love it on some days and the other days I really don't like it- so in conclusion I have handed it down to my little sister.

The main reason why I decided to give it away was because I felt it was too orange on my face no matter how little amounts I used. I'm just looking for something that would give me that natural look rather than making it blatantly obvious I have makeup on. You could say it maybe wasn't the right shade for me unfortunately so I'm still on the hunt.

Steps I took:

1.I took my MAC pro longwear concealer  NC45 to cover blemishes, dark circles under my eyes and around my lips using the real techniques concealer brush. The reason why I love this brush is because it's angular and allows you to conceal in areas where you may miss giving it a precise coverage.

2. I took my chisel cheeks contour kit by BarryM and used my real techniques face expert brush ( as I didn't really have any other suitable brushes with me at the time) to contour my face. You can check out product details here. The contour kit comes with a highlighter, bronzer and sculpter with instructions on what to do which is extremely handy!
The kit itself is really great for it's price and it really does contour well so I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get their hands on one!

3. I used the maybelline master smoky black eyeliner pencil to shade in my eyebrows ... yes the old fashioned way.. purely because I don't own an eyebrow kit but it still does the job for me.

4. I lined my lips with the maybelline colour drama lipstick and mine was 'Light it up' and applied the wet'n'wild sugar plum fairy lipstick. Okay I have to say I ADORE ADORE ADORE this lipstick. It is one of my favourites of all time.
It applies really smoothly and it looks stunning on!! The sugar plum fairy as the name suggests is a plum colour, lasts for quite a bit 3-4hours and totally inexpensive!! One of my best buys!!

5.To finish off, I applied my MAC Kohl power eye pencil and lined my upper eyelid and the bottom of my eye to finish off the look.

so what did you guys think?

Today was a lovely day, my sisters and I had a girls shopping day out which was nice as we rarely get the chance to spend it together as a trio.

We set out to the mall and didn't really have anything in mind, I think it was a kind of day where I would probably pick out something I loved.

Our first stop was at Exhibit; it's a lovely shop but unfortunately don't think there's a lot round these days, but their clothes are affordable and super stylish  and so this is what I picked out.. what do you guys think? I saw a similar one to this at H&M back in January but didn't buy it as it was a little pricey for my liking ( I think it was £24.99). This grey cardigan was on for sale for... £8.00. AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN. I love the feel of the cardigan- quite cosy and it also has pockets, for me personally it had to be a MUST.

Of course a stop at Primark was a needed. I didn't really go overboard as nothing really stood out to me but this gorgeous cardigan caught my eyes. It was something I have been searching for the longest time but I just couldn't find 'the one' but this is a beautiful knit cardigan which isn't full sleeved and it'd be perfect for the spring season too. I also grabbed a black belt and a pair of black leggings.

Both these cardigans, they aren't too long nor too short so it just about comes up to my waist (kind of like a fleece/ hoodie length if you get me?)

I picked up a few things from Boots- I'm not that addicted I promise! It was purely because there was a 3 for 2 offer on makeup products and I just couldn't help myself. The words 'offer/ sale' I'm totally there.
The flawless chisel cheeks contour kit; I initially read it up on Amelia Liana's blog and since it honestly is the cheaper alternative to the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit I picked it up. I absolutely adore Barry M so I've got good hopes for this product.
Here is the link to Amelia's blog:
http://amelialiana.com/2015/02/budget-buy-an-alternative-to-anastasias-contour-kit/

The lipsticks are  L'Orèal and both are really smooth to apply, with a really nice smell to it too! I have swatched them both below; if I'm honest I'm more of a dark burgundy, plum, wine kind of girl but never really tried red but I have to say these both suited really well.
I bought the L'Orèal eyeliner as it has quite a fine tip which would be perfect for everyday use and for a more precise look I feel.

Last but not least I stopped by at the Benefit counter because I was looking a bronzer but unfortunately it actually matched the colour of my skin so there was no point  :( boo!
But I met a lovely lady, Victoria. Honestly I have to admit it was by far the best customer service I have ever received... She was an absolute star and I can't emphasize enough how amazing she was! Incredibly sweet and extremely helpful too.. High praises all round.
We got talking about skincare and how I feel that when I apply moisturiser my skin is often left oily after a couple of hours, so Victoria suggested I try the triple performing facial emulsion as it doesn't produce oil hence less clogging of pores.
I have never tried emulsion as such before but I was open to trying out new products but the only problem was the price... honestly £22.50 for a 50ml (hmmm was it worth it or not?)
The radiant skincare set was recommended at a price of £15.50 and it had included the following product:

  • Foamingly clean facial wash
  • Refined finish facial polish
  • Moisture prep toning lotion
  • Triple performing facial emulsion
  • Total moisture facial cream
  • It's potent eye cream
I went with this product at the end because it had a variety of skincare products which I really wanted to try out; the products would last me a maximum of 2 weeks ( a small amount of the product goes a long way) so if I liked a specific product it'd make sense to go and buy it rather than wasting money on something I may not favour after a while.
I have used the total moisture facial cream before bed along with the it's potent eye cream and in the morning I use the triple performing facial emulsion (the smell is incredible honestly).
The set comes with a small plastic carrier to put your skincare products and it's really handy for travelling. I have to say the packaging of the products is awesome! It looks like small potion bottles and all of them are quite petite which I love.
I wasn't complaining when a lot of the products in Menary's (it's a Northern Ireland- based department store) where on for sale- so I got this at a discounted price! :)

If you guys would like to see a review on anything please let me know and I will definitely get that done for you!
