Happy 2018 everyone!!

Last October I was sent this Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara* which I have now tried for over 3 months. So I'm going to let you guys know what I loved about this product and what I didn't like as much.My holy grail mascara was always the L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in black due to it's thin wand and precise application which 'til this day I would always see myself using daily.

Honestly I was extremely sceptical about this product, A) Realistically I would never go out of my way to purchase a high end mascara - unless it was super essential in my makeup routine and B) I always find hyped up products such a let down.

I would say instantly the packaging blew me away, sleek, shiny and definitely compact. I carry it in my makeup bag wherever I go.The packaging is a hexagonal 3D shape which is intriguing, with a smooth surface useful for grip and finally along the side is the silver 'MARC JACOBS' logo. I totally loved the simplistic packaging yet appearing to look high-end.

I always get compliments about my eyelashes whenever I wear this mascara, the 'Oh what false lashes you wearing?' or 'Your eyelashes look really long' which was the first kind of compliment I received about any mascara I tried. So, naturally I was hyped and began applying it on a daily basis. Genuinely I could say hand on heart, you could actually get away with wearing false lashes ( so ladies if you struggle with falsies - here's your solution). I find applying this mascara definitely compliments any eye look.

This mascara definitely dries alot quicker and it doesn't feel heavy on the eyes. It doesn't smudge ( a bonus when you don't look like a panda) and I have applied it for more than 10 hours and because it's lightweight you don't realise you have mascara on! The mascara itself doesn't clump which I found happened with the benefit 'They're Real' mascara ( unfortunately was thrown in the bin after a month or so). I would say I'm not a super fan of the wand size as I find it a little too big, if it was smaller it would have been ideal, but I guess the purpose was to 'experience 1800% more volume' which definitely fits the statement.

If your thinking about purchasing a new mascara, THIS THIS THIS!!! And as Valentine's Day is approaching around the corner - this could be an ideal gift.😜. You could also purchase the mascara here. Having been hesitant about high-end makeup products to purchase - I would definitely grab myself a new one, after this runs out and highly recommend it to anyone as it is definitely worth every penny.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail / comment below. My opinions are always 100% genuine and honest. There are a few pictures on my Instagram ( me wearing this mascara) if you would like to head over and check it out :).

DISCLAIMERl* This product was sent to me complimentary for review purposes by @marcjacobsbeauty @influensteruk which I am genuinely beyond thankful and grateful for the opportunity. Again like I mentioned, all opinions are genuine and 100% my own.

I definitely need to give credit to my older sister for introducing me to this little wonder. I saw it on her instagram and I felt intrigued but never purchased my own as it was a little expensive. Funnily enough I was on the hunt for a new moisturiser myself, so I guess it was perfect timing when I ended up at her house where she kindly let me borrow the neutrogena moisturiser.

So my opinions?
I absolutely LOVE it, and having always used the tea tree cream from superdrug it was a pleasant surprise. It's a gel cream which applies smoothly on the face, not too runny nor thick so it has the perfect consistency. My skin instantly felt smooth & it's also light weight that I've noticed - with this you don't really feel like you've just applied moisturiser and one of the things I was worried about was the gel causing a crumbly feeling / clumping together on my face but that wasn't the case.
Let's not forget the amazing smell also which isn't too over powering but quite subtle which I love.
I've been using this for around 1 month now; and I haven't reacted to the product - bonus! which you all know how sensitive my skin it and this product is ideal as my face could get a little dry throughout the day and it definitely helps with keeping my skin hydrated.

This retails for £12.99 which could be purchased in Boots / Superdrug / Tesco which I know initially for me, it was quite alot.. BUT I actually bought it for £6.00 / £6.99** as every now and then it gets reduced so keep your eyes peeled for that (not entirely sure but it was less than £7.00) which is decent as the cream I used to purchase cost me £3.50 and as it was a 30 ml bottle from superdrug (it was the superdrug brand) for myself it would only last me tops 1 month and as much as I adored the product I needed something that was worth the money and did the job.

The only thing I could have hoped for would definitely be some kind of SPF. Is that even possible for a gel formulation?
Has anyone tried the neutrogena hydroboost? If so let me know what your opinions are.

Finding makeup to fit my skin tone is mission impossible, honestly.
Foundations/ concealers are either too light or either too dark meaning I can never find 'the perfect one.'

Do you ever notice how amazing the makeup looks in store and when try it at home it's the total opposite?
That is the story of my life.

So you may have noticed in my previous posts, I bought the Clinique beyond perfecting 2 in 1. This is a concealer and foundation combined which comes with the angled tip applicator and it gives you the perfect coverage.

The beyond perfecting foundation and concealer is highly pigmented and it does give you a flawless coverage no doubt about it. It is lightweight which is beneficial when applying to areas under the eyes.

For me personally, I really love it on some days and the other days I really don't like it- so in conclusion I have handed it down to my little sister.

The main reason why I decided to give it away was because I felt it was too orange on my face no matter how little amounts I used. I'm just looking for something that would give me that natural look rather than making it blatantly obvious I have makeup on. You could say it maybe wasn't the right shade for me unfortunately so I'm still on the hunt.

Steps I took:

1.I took my MAC pro longwear concealer  NC45 to cover blemishes, dark circles under my eyes and around my lips using the real techniques concealer brush. The reason why I love this brush is because it's angular and allows you to conceal in areas where you may miss giving it a precise coverage.

2. I took my chisel cheeks contour kit by BarryM and used my real techniques face expert brush ( as I didn't really have any other suitable brushes with me at the time) to contour my face. You can check out product details here. The contour kit comes with a highlighter, bronzer and sculpter with instructions on what to do which is extremely handy!
The kit itself is really great for it's price and it really does contour well so I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get their hands on one!

3. I used the maybelline master smoky black eyeliner pencil to shade in my eyebrows ... yes the old fashioned way.. purely because I don't own an eyebrow kit but it still does the job for me.

4. I lined my lips with the maybelline colour drama lipstick and mine was 'Light it up' and applied the wet'n'wild sugar plum fairy lipstick. Okay I have to say I ADORE ADORE ADORE this lipstick. It is one of my favourites of all time.
It applies really smoothly and it looks stunning on!! The sugar plum fairy as the name suggests is a plum colour, lasts for quite a bit 3-4hours and totally inexpensive!! One of my best buys!!

5.To finish off, I applied my MAC Kohl power eye pencil and lined my upper eyelid and the bottom of my eye to finish off the look.

so what did you guys think?
